i use a personal storage file without encryption at the moment - i their a way to encrypt this file without to create a new one from beginnig on?

no did not work Sad

no simple command line tool available to convert a pupsave file in a cryted one? is this only possible during the firsttime creation of the file?

What if you create a new encrypted container...

Mount it on loopback.

Load a different lupusave (so you aren't mounted on the one you want to copy into the encrypted). Open the main container file.

Then, with both containers open, from the command line

Code:
cp -adir <source> <destination>


As I recall, that will correctly copy all files and symbolic links, without recursing where it shouldn't be going...

Edit: you jogged my memory about something. There was a widget that would let you change passwords (or remove passwords), but it created a new save file from our existing one. I'll need to do some digging to see if I can find the thread again.

I'm not sure, but I think that this tool will do it:

There was also a patch posted allowing "fsck" on encrypted containers when mounting... I'll see if I can locate that as well.
