HowTo resize a .xpm with mtPaint?

#1 Post by sunburnt »

I need 3 or 4 different sizes of the Puppy paw icon, but resizings a problem.

Saving the pic. after using the scroll knob to zoom in & out doesn't save the zoomed pic.
So I took to zooming & then doing a screen capture with a second mtPaint.
But this doesn't keep the transparent border, it just copies the checked pattern.

in mtpaint, you would probably click Image, Scale Canvas, the Keep Aspect Ration box should be checked, then type in a size in pixels in the New box ... type in 48 in Width, for example, and the Height will set itself to match ... then click Save As, or Save to overwrite the original pic

it's better to make a large picture smaller than to try and blow up a small pic and make it larger

Thanks, I should have guessed that...

I tried messing with the .xpm text but messed it up.
When I've got more time I'll have a look at the format of a .xpm file.
