LibreOffice 3.5 + language packs

#1 Post by vicmz »

For LibreOffice 4.x series, click here

This packages were compiled by many users in the forum. The packages are linked here for easy access.

 LibreOffice 3.5 packages available:

LibreOffice 3.5.2 (PET)

LibreOffice 3.5.1 (SFS)

LibreOffice 3.5.2 (SFS)

LibreOffice 3.5.3 (SFS)

SFS files can be added through Menu > System > BootManager or using Menu > Setup > SFS Load, if your Puppy doesn't have SFS Load you can download it here.

 If Java is required:

Download Java for Puppy Linux (PET)

Download Java for Puppy Linux (SFS)

:?: Which should I choose, PET or SFS? If you have a frugal installation, e.g. a session file on a flash drive, you can use the SFS files if you don't want to use the space of your session file. If you want to remaster the Puppy Linux live-CD so that it includes LibreOffice, you must use PET files. Both PET and SFS files can be used for full installations to hard disk.

 Language packs

These language packs translate the interface of LibreOffice to the selected language, as long as you have Puppy Linux set to your language (if you don't, you can set Puppy to your language or set LibreOffice to the new language in the Settings section). The packages also add spell-checking support where available. This way there's no need to compile separate versions for each language, you can use LibreOffice installation packages from the official repositories and the langpack of your choice. Also, instead of having to install the eight separate DEB packages you just have to install one PET package to add the language support.

At the moment, there are packages available for the languages in the list below. I'll add more as I make the PETs.

Catalonian (Català)

BTW the name of the thread is slightly missing-leading as it sound like ONLY the language packages for present. Maybe rename something like LibreOffice 3.5.x and Language packs

Hello rameshiyer
I'm sorry, I wish I had the skills to make a cutdown SFS. At the moment I can't do it myself, but I do want to find out how to do it.

Trad. Chinese Lang. Pack

#19 Post by ThoriumBlvd »

I notice in this thread that the language packs offered (Including Trad. Chinese) are offered for LibreOffice 3.5.X. Should I bother d/l the needed Lang. Pack if I have v. 4.0? Just wondering if there are any changes to LO.

System is Puppy Slacko- 5.5XL with Half-Chinese (Trad.) waiting to be installed.

Yes. There are new LibreOffice packages here:

Please read all of the information, you should be able to choose the packages you need. As you're installing a Chinese langpack, you don't need the CJK fonts, since they're usually included in the langpacks.
