Some Puppy Wallpapers

#1 Post by Pizzasgood »

The other day I was feeling creative, so I whipped out the Gimp and started messing around. I came out with a couple wallpapers. Then I played with the settings for how it puts one layer over another (normal, dissolve, multiply, etc) and made some variants. Today I started putting my website back online, and the first thing I uploaded was the wallpapers. There are two based on the paw print logo and six using the cartoony puppy with a flower. It also has the two small tileable ones I made back in spring.

Enjoy!

EDIT: I should specify that I did not draw the paw or puppy. I just resized them and played with filters and backgrounds and stuff. I did draw the tileable ones though.

Nice work Pizzasgood. Which ones work best with the icons? I like "neon" and "white".

I made another one today. I found a photo of a husky, traced it in inkscape, did the same for a paw print, and stuck them in a circle. Then I loaded it into Gimp and played with my two favorite features: "Render Solid Noise" and the "Mode" dropdown in the "Layers" dialog.

Go here to get one for your resolution (it makes a difference, especially for 1280x1024 so it doesn't get deformed).

And this sand would be a nice back for the Paw-logo:

Thanks :D

I've now uploaded the "Sand Series," using the sand provided by MU and the paw logo. I made both a text version and a non-text version.
