Subject description: No Thumbnail on UTUBE posting .avi

Package installed Openshot-1.3.1-Lucid+Python-2.6-Lucid-sfs4.sfs
Since the above package doesn't have Docs my question is where these Docs should be installed ? The present setup seems to work fine with the exception of not posting a "thumbnail" to uploaded videos.avi. Does anyone have an idea, how to proceed ? Thanks

With caution. Openshot is more stable in Slacko
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=586233#586233

and I think Jemimah even has 1.4.1 in Saluki

From my own experience of Openshot is it is still developing and the later the version the better. Your specific questions for Lucid I do not know. I started using Openshot in Lucid and had to save and restart the X windows every 30 mins aprox as Openshot was flaky. It is a great program. Worth persevering with and in the latest versions uses Blender to render titles (you have to set this up manually to the right directories where blender is).

I wish you luck and look forward to Puppy Linux (the movie) on Vimeo or Youtube Wink

Subject description: No Thumbnail on UTUBE posting .avi (Solved with the help of Forum members)

Thanks bigpup for the links that got me sorted. On reading the Openshot.docs
I didn't find the keyword "Thumbnails" so I decided it must be a function of UTUBE software and NOT Openshot.Sure enough my puppy chased this critter up the right tree. Just as in most of my dealings with "The Puppy" It seems it has always been a case of a "loose operator" Embarassed Thanks again !

Straight from the horses mouth at UTUBE :Picking a video thumbnail

Once your video's been processed (processing time varies greatly depending on the format of your original video, file size, and upload traffic), the system will automatically generate three representative video thumbnails. Once these thumbnails have been generated, you can select one of the them as your video thumbnail. Just follow the steps below:
Sign in to your YouTube account.
Click your username (in the top right-hand corner of the screen). A drop-down menu will appear. Click Video Manager.
Find the video whose thumbnail you'd like to change and click its Edit button.
On the following page under the heading, Video Thumbnail, click on one of three thumbnails to use as a picture to represent your video. Once you've chosen your preferred still, the border around it will become highlighted.
Finally, click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.
It may take a short while for the new thumbnail to appear. Please note that only the three automatically-generated thumbnails are available for use—you can't use other video frames or pictures.
