geany issue\; opens last file saved |
|
Opening geany whether via the menu, a command line or the defaulttexteditor opens the last file saved, instead of a new file.

I found the answer. It is to type "geany -s". I have changed the defaulttexteditor file to read this.

This can be changed in the preferences.
In Geany
Go to Edit->preferences->General->Startup
Un-check load files from last session.
Now it will start with a new untitled document window.

Thanks. That's clearly the proper fix, rather than my workaround.
