I dearly hope everybody have forgotten my blooper.
I even have a hard time to remember it . I wrote something about
"There is no pinboard to be found in puppy anywhere only a Desktop so why on earth does it say Pinboard when there is none?" something like that.
So embarrassing. There is no regular standard Desktop there is only a Puppy Pinboard and I had no idea what I was talking about. So typical of Nooby. Big mouth small headed guy.

Here's my original, but no longer used sig
On observance: Place banana in your ear.
Observe that there are no alligators around.
Conclude: Bananas placed in ears keep alligators away
It was loosely based on this, by Buddha, from the Kalama Sutta
Quote: | Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumoured by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it. |

Almost a linux quote....
Chief Seattle wrote: | "Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect" |
Quite prophetic, though...

There are probably a good number of us here who've read Linus' initial message introducing Linux to the world. But how many of us really noticed the humour?:
Linus Torvalds wrote: | It is NOT protable (uses 386 task switching etc), and it probably never
will support anything other than AT-harddisks, as that's all I have |
The first person to reply had a lot more foresight:
Jyrki Kuoppala wrote: | Nobody will believe you about non-portability , and I for one would
like to port it to my Amiga |
But Linus reiterated in his next message:
Linus Torvalds wrote: | Simply, I'd say that porting is impossible |
Classic!

This one isn't everyone's cup o' tea so I won't post it. I did find it amusing.

Personally I'm not sure if I like releases... couldn't the whole world run off "stable" svn trunks?

LOL Micko on that bloke's sig file!
And yes... -ahem!- I can see why you chose the better part of valour to link to it instead.
I love it though! Sure must have taken a wee bit of thought to have come up with THAT one. lol!
Thank you so much Micko for having started my day with a great laugh - one that'll keep this smile on my face throughout the entire day. lol! When people see me like this - especially the Mrs. - she asks me repeatedly, "What mischief have you managed to have gotten yourself into now?"
Take care Micko and once more: Thanks again!
Have a great day mate!
Cheers/Amicalement,

Here are two by Sheldon Cooper (who BTW uses Ubuntu which is the only scientific mistake in the series).
Quote: | Windows 7 is more user friendly than Windows Vista, I don't like it |
Quote: | Well, well, well, if it isn't Wil Wheaton. The Green Goblin to my Spider-Man, the Pope Paul V to my Galileo, the Internet Explorer to my Firefox! |
Or rather Quote: | Windows to my Linux, Tech support to my murga-linux forum, Microsoft Corp. to my freedom |

They may well have borrowed it from elsewhere, but this is quite good from the opensnap (Windows 7 aero style window snapping) webpage.

And of course there's this from the man page for Arch linux's pacman:
Quote: | BUGS
Bugs? You must be kidding, there are no bugs in this software. But if
we happen to be wrong, send us an email with as much detail as possible
to <email>. |
