mixxx 1.9

This is mixxx 1.9

Mixxx is a free, open-source DJ mixing console that turns your digital music collection into the source for a full range of mixing, programming,
and effects for recording or live presentation. While all you need is a PC or laptop to use Mixxx, it can also control two turntables, even analog
turntables, with special time-synched media. By using Mixxx's Vinyl Control with one of several time-synched records, you can control your
digital music just like your analog records. Mixxx enables scratching, hot cues, looping, and other effects, in addition to its core mixing and equalization features.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Treat this as experimental, it may well conflict with other qt applications such as VLC. Also i don't know if all features are enabled. but they could be :)

websitehttp://www.mixxx.org/

it was compiled on lucid puppy but also works on slacko with the added deps

you can download mixxx here http://www.mediafire.com/file/amqder7f4 ... xxx1.9.pet 50.17mb
MD5 3037d906aa052e926d2f7d61974ef99a

Needs your graphic drivers installed

for some unknown reason, i couldn't make this into a working sfs. it would produce the sfs, but wouldn't mount it saying it was
the wrong version. I suspect permissions inside the folder. If anyone can sort it and make an sfs.....please do!

enjoy

Hi 666philb

I'm trying to install on Slacko, but nothing happens. I download the dependant as well but when I click on the menu just nothing happens.

Some idea?

Best Regards, Pablo.

I used the 2 files that were mentioned,
installed deps first. then the prog.
Perfect.

This is on a near new folder-frugal install of 531.

Nothing else I can suggest.

Thanks kooliepup,

I think that the first time i start it without dependants. Before I download the dependants but nothing happens. I had open the Puppy package manager (uninstall) the mixxx and dependants.
But when I take a look for several places mixxx is still installed...
So I have deleted all files. I'm trying again with a new download of both dependants and mixxx pet...
Hope this work!

Built one for exprimo that's 29.2M that appears to be working with mp3's. I removed all the duplicates from the dep file. Requires xorg high.

edit: I built an SFS that works, although I had to reboot

hi paulsbasso, the problem might be your graphic drivers not being installed or another QT app conficting with it (vlc for example)

666Philp: Strip and split the package, and then it will work as an sfs. It's 30M without the devs and docs.

It should be in your sfs repository. I found a smaller version of mixxx for exprimo in the repo, but needed libqt-4.8.0-webkit and the nvidea graphics drivers to get it to work (also some extra libs..all of which were in the repo).

note: this is a rather buggy app..works for a while..soaks up a lot of resources, then gets segmentation errors, etc.

For Exprimo 5.X.3.4.2.4, this seems fairly stable. All pets were in the repository, and total only 11M.

mixx-1.10.1.pet

libgstreamer0.10-0_0.10.30-1.pet
libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-0_0.10.30-1.pet
libjack0_0.118+svn3796-7.pet
libportaudio0_18.1-7.1.pet
libportmidi0_184-2.pet
libshout3_2.2.2-5+b1.pet
libshout-ocaml_0.2.7-1+b1.pet
libsvga1_1.4.3-29.pet
libtag1-vanilla_1.6.3-1.pet

Also, it needed (in the sfs repository)

qt-4.8.0-webkit-phonon-gstream-opengl-dpup.sfs

I don't have lucid loaded currently, but am guessing a stable mixxx app is very distro specific, given components like Jack which requires a particular build.
