Thanks charlie6. You have eth0 in use only, no wireless. e100 intel driver is in use and works. Vattery-acpitool seq faults, does not like P4 sensors. I suppose tempicon tray ie temp2tray seq faults also and you get that pink dialog warning. It seems to try to load nouveau driver, but fails.

Nothing serious from those files.

Have you tried to boot pfix=ram, nox
Thay way it boots to the console state only and then try to create savefile. That way those seg faulting apps does not interfere.
Ctr+alt-del or wmreboot or wmpoweroff in console state without going to X at all.

- tried to boot pfix=ram,nox
done: local, time ... settings, get the prompt ( logged as root (automatic) )
- entered:
# reboot
got the dialog box for creating a pupsave, ...nothing after the CONTINUE step.

- if doing #wmpoweroff or #wmreboot, then i get
killall:enlightement: no proces killed

pc does not shut down

charlie6. Has there been even early version of 3.4.2 kernel dpup which has created the savefile and shut down. I need to know is it kernel per se or some other cause.

Dpup Exprimo 5.X.3.4.2.7 has been uploaded. This build will be first in the dpup-test folder. If the broadcom wireless loading and savefile creation works as they should....I will move the files to the appropriate folder and update the first page.
This build has recent application updates also. Pmenu-2.6 and Pburn-3.7. Dbus initialization script should be now bluetooth compliant straight. Several small fixes which has been posted here in the thread and by pm. Mostly some script or utility app or icon were missing or I was using old DOTdesktop file.
I have tested the shutdown with my main quad core laptop, intel celeron single core laptop and P4 dual core desktop. All worked just fine. Okay P4 does not like temp2tray as we knew.

I have updated exprimo database so...that mixxx for example gets with examine dependencies the right qt4 version suggestion and downloads it. vlc and mixxx that way can be downloaded with all needed dependencies.

Next thing will be adding ignore list for certain squeeze debs so that they dont show as dependencies when you click the examine dependencies. There are many those which are included as pets and the examine dependencies triggers false missing reports. For example system package libglib2.0 has been patched, provided as pet and dpup exprimo does not use the squeeze deb version....but it is shown as missing dependency frequently. That one is now the first one in ignore list. I will update list when I encounter more of those.

Kernel sources still the same...download link in the first page.

I have to reupload it. I did move b43 folder to the /lib/firmware wrongly. I got pm from rerwin. And I am atm processing packages for rebuild. It takes still some time. This evening it will be reuploaded though.
Sorry about this....

James C and Peebee. I tried to include nouveau xorg driver: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau.
Just to get feedback if it it works. But I messed with woof and it wasnt processed. Now I have woof specs right.

Radky posted that puppyclock, launched in console....and after closing app gives broken pipe errors....which might flood xerrs.log file. I dont know the reason for misbehavior. There might be script adjustment need or then I have some core app which does not behave as expected. I dont know atm,

Correction: Zigberts original pclock-0.2 does not give errors after exiting.

I did correct the pclock width and height so that the numbers show full. The second number was cut off in original script (in my laptop). Don570 corrected that in his puppyclock and I did same adjustment to the Zigberts original.

If you install this pet....it removes puppyclock and installs that corrected pclock and updates menu so that puppyclock has been removed. You get instead Pclock under Personal menu.
This is fix so that xerrs.log does not get flooded with thousands of rows of broken pipe errors.
I will fix my woof to use pclock. Don570 might take a look at his puppyclock if he can figure out what makes puppyclock misbehave.
