Google Chrome Updates

Google Chrome is updated with some frequency within a version, for instance, from 20.0.1132.43 to 20.0.1132.57. If you like to have the latest, you can just download it from Google Chrome, unpack it, and then replace the old /opt/google/chrome folder with the new one (assuming of course that you have the Google_Chrome pet installed).

Download 32-bit deb from here -> https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/

Then right-click the deb file and Open Archive - Extract. Then replace the old /opt/google/chrome with the new one.

Well for whatever unknown reason, this latest version of Chrome is working on the Athlon XP box again. :)

That's not unprecedented. I had a version of Iron that would not work for me--and then the next version was OK again.

Where did you get your KDE4 module from James? That looks pretty "snazzy" if I must say so myself! :D Is it the one from Battleshooter perhaps? ( I have that one installed in my Lucid 528-005 and 3HD ) I'd love to be able to use it but I have some troubles with it from time-to-time so I mainly have it for the KDE4 apps, like Konqueror, which I like as a browser.

Thanks for any info you care to share.

Cheers/Amicalement,

Sorry for the delay.......been really busy.
I basically built my own starting with Kubuntu 11.04 packages and a few tweaks here and there. And quite a bit of trial and error.....
Trashed a few savefiles before I got it working........ :)

Thanks for the feedback James as it was very much appreciated! :D I've always been tempted to try the same method myself, both with Gnome and with KDE4 - although I suppose if one has a hard drive install the chances of success would be greatly improved by simply downloading/installing everything the PPM said was required, or finding the proper "Kubuntu desktop.deb" and for gnome the proper "gnome-desktop-megapack.deb", etc. After all, hard drive space is cheaply had these days. ;) ( Sidenote: This is, after all, how I've gotten LXDE to work in Lucid-Pup when doing my desktop/window environment reports to Playday from the beginning of the project. )

But I ramble. Thanks again James for the info! :)

EDIT #1: BTW James, I've been using Igulder's Trinity desktop on my hard drive install of Lucid-Pup-510 and that's worked flawlessly from the very start. I hope the devs continue with the fork!

You down play what must have been a lot of work ;-) Would it be possible to package it up and post it? It sounds like you are looking for something else to do. Thanks.

do you mean the latest version of Lucid? The latest version of Puppy would actually be Slacko 5.3.3. if it is Lucid that is not loading then I recommend that you try Slacko, which is newer. If it is slacko that i not loading then you should put the message in the Slacko forum. Also you should provide more detail about exactly what is happening when it is not loading. Thanks.

I tried the Firefox internal update.
Updated version 13.0.1 to 14.0.1.
Seems to be working OK, so the problems, of the past, seem to be over with using Firefox internal update.
Thank you very much for the pet of 14.0.1
Always a good thing, to also have a pet version, of the latest Firefox.
