PeasyPort scans your network for open ports. PeasyPort is listed in the Network menu. To make a shortcut, drag /usr/local/bin/peasyport onto the desktop. Use the icon /usr/local/apps/ROX-Filer/ROX/MIME/inode-socket.png. 
The Speed button controls two settings. They are kept in the hidden file /root/.peasyport. 1. Your network consists of a variety of devices - computers, routers, LAN printers, NAS fileservers. The last two may be slow to respond to port scans, as are some Windows machines. "Regular" speed should work with most devices. But if your network has only high-speed devices, try "Fast". 2. Your own computer's speed determines how well it can collect the scan data returning from the target devices. Pick the fastest setting that gives you reliable results. Update: Peasyport v1.7 now has a Turbo mode. Use it to scan large port ranges (1-65535) of fast devices like other Linux computers.
