Good Morning America video of Puppy Power. Puppy Recognition

#1 Post by WB7ODYFred »

This video is what I feel shows my Puppy Linux bringing to the fight of being
LOCKED OUT from being promoted to Microsoft Windows Users.
You cant keep my Puppy down!

Do you think handing out Puppy Linux Slacko 5.3.3 CD's to some London 2012 Olympics visitors might slightly increase Puppy Linux Recognition around the world?

What might happen if those CD's were mastered to have the Chinese Fonts
installed for the localization and handed out to Chinese speaking visitors?
Would puppy Linux gain traction inside China?

Give that puppy a biscuit!
L18L, Rhadon, Rodin.s thanks for your International Localization efforts.
Lobster, maybe you could add music and voice over script make a "Puppy Power" Video, maybe some title pages? Hint a little Push? I did like your videos
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOwNmWL90o4 crustylobster Puppy Linux 2012 a must watch video.

Yes, I realize that you can hand a CD disk, and it gets put at the bottom of the draw to collect dust. Maybe someone will say that's nice and never give the disk a test run. Yes, Puppy Recognition is a hard thing to bring about. That was nice for Monsie to ask if Puppy recognition is increasing in 2011 / 2012.

I think that the Youtube Howto tutorials will propel Puppy Linux forward!
I have been using Puppy since 4.1.11 September 2008.
How do you share Puppy Linux? I have been an over the road truck driver and have given out CD's and written websites on paper to hand to workers where I am loading or unloading across the United States.

Note: For windows users, I suggest using
http://linuxliveusb.com It will download Puppy 5.2.8 or Linux Mint or 360 other Linux Distros and install to a USB Flash Drive. One of the easiest ways to test Puppy Linux from a pure windows environment with the least amount of extra handling to create a useable bootable USB Flash Drive!

Do you think puppy linux will take hold in India? How would you get help localizing to the several different Indian Languages?

Question: How do you promote Puppy Linux to those you come in contact with either through vacations or business? :P Your friends already know you use puppy linux, right?

I am maybe different. Wubi install of Ubuntu
helped me to get to know how to add other
OS to Windows.

Then ICPUG Lin'nwin way of adding a frugal install
of Puppy onto WinXP helped me a lot.

But when I bought a lean and mean Netbook Acer D250
then the Win7 I had no way to add Puppy.

I made a work around. Wubi install of Jolicloud
allowed me to add Puppy to the Jolicloud menu.lst

So for some to spread Puppy would be to describe
in words that can be understood by a noob how to
add Puppy to a default Win OS
I use Google Search on Puppy Forum
not an ideal solution though

And if you think you have finally killed your flash drive after installing many different Puppy Linuxes, ;)

Should bring it back from the dead.

Hi!

Everybody is yelling "Censorship, Censorship" if he is not allowed to copy and redistribute what ever he wants (mostly proprietary stuff).

I did just want to see the video...

...and did get a fucking commercial and then a message: "This video is not available at your location" (or similar).

This is what i do call: CENSORSHIP!

The Internet mostly SUCKS!

Same here in NZ - "not available in your location". I think all the big players (including Google etc...) want to "lock up" internet video so that we will see nothing unless someone pays for each view. I think this is what has driven the constant changes to Flash - they talk about "security updates" but what I think they really mean is "we have to change Flash again to stop people watching for free".

I want to see a new version of Youtube - based on an opensource format. Call it Puptube.
I would buy a subscription.
