Cannot install from Puppy package manager

#1 Post by TheYoungOne »

Hello all :)

I try to install deadbeef from puppy package manager and i get this

550 Failed to change directory.

No such directory `puppylinux/pet_packages-slacko'.

Does anybody know why ? I need a music program.

Thank you in advanced

Stefano

P.S I am using PUPPY 5.3.3 Slacko version. Also this seems to happen with other software from puppy package manager.

Are you running Pup as a full hd install or frugal?

I can't seem to recreate your problem.

That the fix didn't work I'm thinking something went wrong with the install.

Did you verify the iso with it's md5? You burned it at what speed?

Could've been. Did seem like a bit of an iffy install. Didn't work, something to do with a GRUB error so i chose to use MBR, that made it work. I could boot into puppy without using the USB.

I used a USB stick not a CD.

Reckon i should re-install ? is there an easy way? I might try lucid puppy while i'm at it.

Yeah, I don't like errors when it comes to installs.

That Slickpet works wouldn't justify a crippled install- just a thought..

As far as easy- it didn't take long, right? I'd run again..

PS- Go ext3 or better when asked to choose a file system format..

I think the version of DeaDBeef in Puppy Package Manager is old anyway.

You can get the latest version (0.5.5) here:-

It is my favourite player for audio.
