Just a friendly smile from a total noob.

" Linux Format magazine October 2012 "
Could it be from 2011 maybe? Or have they
leaked a coming issue already now in August?

Cool that people love Puppy. I love Puppy dearly indeed.
I use Google Search on Puppy Forum
not an ideal solution though

I have...
LinuxMint-13-Mate-DVD-64bit
Gave it a try, but don't like it much.
Puppy is much easier to use methinks.

Hi Nooby,

The date is correct :D
mags in the UK are normally one month early. And as I have Linux Format on subscription I receive it before its in the shops.
(check bottom right of front cover)

DC - just a tip re jpgs on the forum - if you use something like mtPaint you can scale the image down to a max width of 600 pixels (or slightly less) before posting it, and then the image displays automatically on the forum post - without requiring multiple downloads of a large file. Generally there is no real loss of quality.

Octobers mag in August?? It doesn't get delivered in a Tardis does it???

Many magazines publish 13 issues per year, and get somewhat out of step with the actual dates on the cover. They rectify this by having a "Spring", "Summer" or "Christmas" issue to get get back into step.

Looks as if LF is heading for a Christmas issue. Gardening mags tend to have a Spring issue, cycling and walking mags a "Summer" issue.
