Puppy Linux Tips 0.10b

#1 Post by smokey01 »

This is a little help tutorial that I have developed using Notecase.

This version is called Puppy Linux Tips and is a little more technical than Puppy Help 101.

It was designed for Fatdog64-601 but should work equally as well on all Puppy's.

If you have some useful tips that you would like to see added, please PM me.

I have included some nice little scripts and links to videos.

The Notecase file will install into /usr/share/doc/plt.ncd and the menu entry can be found under Utilities.

Have fun.

Tried to install this in Slacko-5.3.3.1-SCSI, but the installation was reported to have failed. :(

I think it has something to do with xz compression.

Here is the same .pet which i unpacked then repacked in Slacko-5332,
it installed without complaint.

Tried to install smokey01 version in Lucid Puppy 528.005 but the installation failed.

Installed the CatDude version and it installed and runs without a problem.

That installed and runs OK. :D

Except it reported it could be found in "Setup", when it is actually to be found in "Utility".

I have updated it now to use tar.gz compression which should be more compatible with a larger range of distros.
