 Canon Printer Drivers - Updated 2012 |

These drivers are built from official Canon packages, but trimmed down for Puppy. They are grouped by model name. If you need a different driver, post a request at the end of the thread.
When you run CUPS, your printer will be listed as a "Canon XXX Series", not as a "Canon PIXMA XXX".
If a driver doesn't work for you, please provide feedback.
Some Canon drivers offer a limited set of options, like only RGB at 600dpi. Read here for a way to add more options.
For Canon laser printers that use the CAPT or UFRII drivers, read here.
Some Canon printers are network-enabled, but are not detected by the usual CUPS methods. For those models, install the cups-bjnp-1.0.pet below. CUPS will then install the unit with the URI: bjnp://aaa.bbb.cc.dd:8611.

Hi I am running puppy racy 5.2.2 have a canon pixma MG2160 im not a wizz with puppy, any step by step instructions to set up appreciated.

Racy has a control panel on the desktop. It has an option for setting up a printer. However, Wary 522 had significant problems with printing and I expect that they are also in Racy 522. Read here.

Have you tried scanning yet? I don't believe that your unit will be detected by Xsane, so I have posted the Canon scanning software here.

ip80 & ip90?
I hadn't tried ip100 with them.
Doing a road trip round oz nov and would be a VERY pleased to get these working on pup,then i can stop loading xp to print!

For the benefit of other users, could you clarify some things?
1. What Puppy version are you using?
2. What is the correct model name of the first printer? Is it an i80 or an iP80?
3. I'm assuming that you used a Gutenprint driver when you did the install in CUPS. Which model did you choose for each printer?
I have posted above the official Canon iP90 driver. It may yield better quality output than the Gutenprint driver.
