How do I get Abi to keep from stripping out photos?

#1 Post by mikeschn »

Since Abiword shows up in many Puppies, maybe you guys can help.

I am trying to paste an html document with a photo from the web into abiword.

Abi keeps stripping out the photo.

How do I get Abi to keep from stripping out photos?

Thanks

In my experiences with Abiword, it's fine for simple documents, but it's useless for more complicated work. The inclusion of Abiword in Puppy is an ongoing topic of contention.

It would be interesting to know if Open/Libre Office can import your HTLM document correctly.

I recall Libre was able to do it correctly.

In my tests I was also able to do a copy and paste from a MS word document into Abi and it kept the photos.

The problem only comes when I try to paste from an HTML document. (Something to do with the nature of photos not being part of the html document, but rather a link to an external photo.)

I've had good luck using SeaMonkey's Composer to edit html documents, including pasting ones with pictures.
