I started using Puppy Linux and am loving it. Only downside is that the softwares provided by the package manager is very much outdated and only few applications are available. Is there any way to install Ubuntu software center? If not, is it possible to install applications from within the terminal? For example in linux mint, I used "sudo" commands.
I hope somebody is out there to help me.
Puppy Software Center not much impressive

Do not get so hung up on latest version of a program. A lot of Puppy programs are tweaked for Puppy and a newer version is made available when it really adds some needed feature or fix to a problem.
A lot of good programs can be found in the Additional Software section of this forum.
If you start downloading programs from the Ubuntu repositories, you will quickly see all the added dependency files needed for program to work.
Their required package size can get to be very big in relation to programs made specifically for Puppy. A lot of bloat is tweaked out when someone makes a version specifically for Puppy.
