Panasonic Toughbook C-29 Problems with Wireshark Download

#1 Post by TexasMike »

Panasonic Toughbook C-29, 1.4 gHz cpu, 1.5 gig RAM works great with Precise. However, when I tried to download Wireshark the first three sources for downloads were not found and produced two different windows on the screen that essentially froze the machine, I was running the live disc, so it was no big deal to start again. The last download source listed worked fine, however, so I suggest you check this out on a LiveDisc before you try to download it on an installed Puppy.

What?? This post is a bit hard to make sense of. What puppy were you using and what "sources" were you trying to download Wireshark from? You do know that there are multiple Wireshark pets here on the forums that work just fine right.

Here is wireshark launchpad source for Ubuntu Precise:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/precise/+source/wireshark

I suspect the poster did not meant wireshark "sources" as source though.

Probably he was trying to download wireshark in Precise Puppy using PPM and ubuntu repo.

Which means the packages to download ( if not already present and many should be present and PPM excludes them ) are from this list:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/fi/precise/wireshark

And something goes wrong using PPM and installation.

Just trying to translate as I understood. Using Finnish - English - Puppy - Ubuntu translation application..version 0.3. Lol.

Ah I didn't even see there where he said he was using Precise.
