I used Nathan wallpaper setter to put an image on the desktop. Because of the type of image, I prefer to have it centred instead of stretched. The catch is that the rest of the desktop is now a light grey colour and I can no longer see the clock. Any suggestions?

Which version of Puppy are you using? Is the clock the analog clock from Pwidgets?

Hi,

Attach the image and advise your screen measurements with your reply to Flash.

My regards

Lupu 5.28. The screen is a 15 inch Dell CRT. The digital clock down in the lower right corner

Sorry, I missed the Puppy version in the subject description line of your original post. Embarassed

I think what Jasper meant was the screen resolution, like 1440x900, not the physical dimensions of the display. You can use Hardinfo to find out:

1024x768 seems awfully small. Does that sound right to you, or has Puppy misunderestimated the resolution of your display?

1024*768 is right. Its way better than the 800*600 on the old screen

Hi,

1024x768 is fine. No wonder Flash doesn't have problems with the forum 600 pixel width screenshot limit if he thinks that's tiny.

The screenshot you attached is a picture of your screen as opposed to the original .jpg or .png or whatever so there is no point my trying to adjust it and then attach my effort.

However, if you can open mtPaint and then drag the original "jpg" into the left pane then click "effects" then click "tranform colour" you might experiment.

Then if you go to File then "Save as" you could just add 1 or 2 or 3 ..... before the original file name at the bottom of the screen - so that you always retain your original picture.

If you don't like the results, I'm sure there are forum members willing to offer better advice.

My regards

Hi RickGT351,

Just looked at your screen-shot and your clock looks fine to me apart from the fact that it is
invisible............. grey text on a grey background makes it so Smile

Go to Desktop Settings/Pupclockset Manager & then the JwmFnt tab.
Move down to the color selector and change the colour of your text to say black.
(You may also want to increase the point size slightly or use bold)

Save changes restart JWM.

Thanks, ETP. I followed you instructions. I now have a nice blue clock that I can see.
Cheers Very Happy
