Upgraded from 1.07 to 2.0.2, now Puppy won't boot.

#1 Post by Trev »

I have a live 2.0.2 live cd which boots fine no problems
I have a number of linux distro installed in different partitions on my relativly modern computer.
I have Puppy version 2.0 installed on one partition which works ok
I also had version 1.0.7. on another partition and I decided to upgrade this version to 2.0.2
The installation upgrade went well with no problems, however when I try to boot from the H/D
It starts the boot up process ok and gets to the following last few lines and then stops at the # sign as below.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
starting sound driver: snd-via82xx done.
No state is present for card V8235
0: old priority 0, new priority 19
renice: 1380: setpriority: No such process
#
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Can anyone suggest what I should do or enter at the hash to make it continue the boot process.
Many thanks for any suggestions

That means your Puppy is ready and waiting for you to command "xwin" so the GUI can start.

The messages that you posted are about your soundcard.

Many thanks Raffy
That worked fine. I thought I had already tried that. (Senior moment I think)
