Hi

I don't know if it will be of use to anyone else but I have just compiled version 1.3.10 of TightVNC Server with a compile of libXp 1.0.0, required for vncviewer. These packages were built with Puppy 4.2.1.

Regards

Hi xtpuppy,

Judging by the number of downloads people have found this useful, so thanks very much.

Ive added a wiki page
http://puppylinux.org/wikka/TightVNC

Has anyone tried this on Lucid or Slacko?

on slacko tested both viewer and server, server needed this:

Code:
mkdir /usr/X11R6/lib/X11
ln -s /usr/share/X11/fonts /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts

OK, so where is the download link? It's not on http://puppylinux.org/wikka/TightVNC.

Try Pup's pkg manager first. Is it there for your pup? Yep! Slack and Ubuntu both have it..

I am using Wary 5.5. Nothing in the package manager for either VNC or Tight.

Wary's a WHOLE'nother ballgame! You probably want the devx so you can compile it yourself.

Of course, if you'd prefer not, try the build here.

Yes, Wary WILL install these, though, you'll most likely be short a few deps.

Thanks. I just started using Wary for the first time because I am using it as a file server on an old Pentium III. (It works great!)

There are Portable Apps for Linux and VNC is one of those that have been created.
