SFS to PET Converter 0.5

#1 Post by RSH »

Hi.

Introducing SFS to PET Converter 0.5!

The SFS to PET Converter 0.5 lets you convert sfs files to pet files. It runs from menu utility, using a gui interface with file selecor and can also be used as right-click-application on an sfs file (Convert SFS-to-PET).

Image

It is mainly based on a modified edition of pizzasgood's Edit-sfs application, installed in and taken from LazY Puppy. I did just made some modifications to create a .pet instead of editing an existing sfs and then creating a new sfs from that edition.

It has locals for DE & EN.

I hope this is useful for many users.

Changes:

Version 0.5

GUI function doesn't work properly ---> fixed - thanks to sg66 for the report (stupid bug  )

Version 0.4

You can now choose where to save the converted PET (at /root/ConvertedToPET or at original sfs Directory). Just run it from the menu (utility) and select wanted option. Quit the GUI. Settings will be saved and used for right-click action (batch as well).

Version 0.3

- batch mode included :D (right-click on directory containing sfs files ---> choose Convert SFS-to-PET-(Batch))

Hi.

Here is a useful tip easily to install the created .pet files:

Using LazY FBI you can do a right-click on /root/ConvertedToPET and install all created .pet files in batch mode. :D 8)

How about one to go the other direction?
a PET2SFS converter.
It would help on PCs in that one would not have to have a monstrous
pupsave file.

Being able to create an SFS of say all games normally installed with PETs would save having to make a huge pupsave file.

There is pest2sfsgui (edit: found it) somewhere on the forum. It can combine several .pet files to one .sfs file.

LazY Puppy has a similar tool (batch as well), but it makes single sfs files (1 sfs for each pet).

Thanks for this useful app.

v0.4 doesn't want to work for me, The gui opens and I point it to a sfs and then nothing, I've tried it on 3 different puppies. v0.3 has no problems.

Hello, rg66.

Thanks for the info. Yes, you are right. I've checked and result is: right-click works, GUI doesn't.

I'm sorry for that and will fix that immediately.
