How and where a portable app stores its configurations?

#1 Post by snayak »

Hi,

I got portable firefox 6 from this thread. http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 262#664262

How and where a portable app like this stores its configurations? I found it is just a single file that runs. :o

Similar surprising thing is also here. http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 267#664267

I am curious about it.
Can you please give me some idea?

Sincerely,
Srinivas Nayak

config files will usually be in /root/. for instance firefox configs are in the hidden /root/.mozilla folder..

Many thanks 666philb.

However, if I have one installed version of firefox and one portable version, both will store their config files in /root/.mozilla?
