Dialup Problem Subject description: Authentication failure
I wanted to help out a friend so I did a full install of Puppy 5.2.8 on an old IBM T22 laptop and sent it as a gift. All went well till we tried to connect to his ISP (550 access). I included a Xircom cardBus 10/100+modem. This setup worked fine at my house (different ISP).
We confirmed that the modem was working and entered the necessary info on the pupdial internet modem dialer page. When we attempted to connect everything appeared to be working well till the password failed. Eventually the log showed "Exit code 19. I contacted the ISP and their solution is to download "apt-get install ppp pppconfig". While I think I could probably manage this it means time and $ to ship the laptop both ways. (My friend is less puter literate than I am.)
My question is "Can the PupDial be configured to work"?
