How does one delete files from cd/dvd

How so? You mean blanking a rewritable disk? If you go to the multimedia menu, down near the bottom you should see "Graveman", which is a cd burner program. If you run that, click the option "other operations" on the left, and it will offer to blank a cd for you.
If you are referring to removing individual files from a Puppy CD, you'd have to remaster Puppy to do that.
