Legacy OS 2 & 4 Mini - Sabre Flight Simulator - Fix Subject description: Install Package gain full control over game |
|
Hello Legacy OS 2 Users,
If like me you've played Sabre on say Debian or another Distro and wondered why the version included in Legacy OS 2 is small screen and only lets you fly around, well you're not alone.
Being the developer I too wanted to play Sabre how it was intended.
I finally worked it out so you too can enjoy Sabre by installing this tar.gz
As before click on it and extract to /
Don't extract it anywhere else you've been warned...
Once extracted in the menu select Accessories > Misc > Reload Menu
Now the fun should begin... This just made this game 1000% better, Enjoy!
Update: File Fix for Legacy OS 4 Mini ( Extract to / as per normal and reload Menu)

DNA (SOLVED)
Not to be dumb, but I followed the installation instructions and when I click on Flight-Simulator in the menu, I do not get a settings window.
I get a small window with the plane flying and clicking on the x to close the game does not close it.
Also, using Htop, I cannot kill it.
I ended up restarting X to finally exit the game.
So, do you know how one gets the game to close?
And how does one access the settings menu for it?
I should say that I installed both sabre file contents as per instructions.
I am running Legacy-OS-4-Mini so I can hopefully get the right information.
I got the settings menu so I am good to go.
It just took some realization that xarchive was not creating some files as I did not have the right options checked such as overwrite and touch.
