Go to Barrys Web page PuppyLinux.com for details of

BareBones 1.0.4
and Chubby Puppy 1.0.4 (comes with Open Office Preinstalled)
Well done to Barry (as ever)
Flowers. Rainbows. Applause.
Excuse me I am just gonna try out the new Open Office Pupget (has just finished downloading)

Hi, probably not implemented yet? Just want to let you know, that I
have booted 1.0.4 bare bones from iso image that also contains
opttools.sfs on cd root. It was NOT mounted automatically..

A surprise in store?
In the News Page dated 19July05
Under the heading "The future"
The last couple of lines
"...On the other hand, I may not do any of the above, as I had an interesting idea yesterday..."
Has PuppyMaster (Barry) got something up his sleeve that we are not privy to yet?
Very intriguing!

HI Barry,

Here at work I have only w2k with qemu, the 1.0.4 iso image with
opttools.sfs put in cd root (same place as usr_cram.fs is located).
At home I have a PC with DVD+USB-Stick holding pup100 personal settings etc. NO HDD at all...

How can I do that in my environment?anyway, copy opttools.sfs to /mnt/home/, then reboot, see if that does the trick.

I can't help you myself Peter, but I feel the uncontrollable urge to do a little dance of joy... I didn't realize how excited I was until this morning, when I saw that cute litttle puppy's face up at the top of Distrowatch News....
Great job everyone-
Looking forward to burning this puppy (o u c h !)

No room on usb stick :(
Hi Barry, its just a 128k stick
Anyway, for the time being, it's no problem at all to mount it manually..
But for future releases, I think it would be good, if Puppy searches also
at the same location as it does for usr_cram.fs...
1.0.4 looks good! I like option 3!
Greetings,
Peter

Just a note of thanks for this new release. I got broadband at home a few weeks ago and had trouble getting Puppy 1.03 to configure the ethernet setup.
I don't know if any change was made to this with 1.04, or if the operator (me) was incompetent, but everything was much easier this time.
OpenOffice is a nice addition and makes Puppy more complete as a desktop option. It's too much to ask for the 1.9 beta I suppose?

it's easy to make a torrent file
ctorrent is supposed to be able to make torrent files
hard part is finding a tracker for it
http://linuxtracker.org/ is a tracker that could be used
something like:
ctorrent -t -u http://linuxtracker.org/announce.php -s puppy104.torrent puppy-1.0.4-mozilla.iso
dijjer is another way to spread the bandwidth using peer-to-peer

Where to find Puppy Linux Peer-2-Peer distribution points
I've updated the Wiki page that tells where to find Puppy Linux P2P file distribution points: http://www.goosee.com/puppy/wikka/PuppyP2PDistribution. It now has torrents for Puppy Linux 1.0.4 and Chubby Puppy Linux 1.0.4. It is a Wiki page so, of course, feel free to add any more info as appropriate. If its easier then you can just let me know what's new and I'll add it for you.[/url]
