I think xine-ui is better for this:

oh sorry... if that is the only issue, I would recommend this calculator:

If you need xcalc, you might copy the original files back from /initrd/pup_xx , that are the original files in the pup_2xx.sfs.
To see what gxine overwrote, look in /root/.packages , the files should be listed there (activate to show hidden files in Rox).
But then xine-ui might no longer work, or maybe it works, but without accelleration.

I personally like mplayer more (but others don't like it).
Mplayer can access the subchappters of a DVD with a rightclick.

Try to put them in
/usr/local/mplayer108/share/mplayer/font

Does that work?

Jwm does not work well with mplayer ... or gxine

there will be a newer version of Jwm soon, that might work better ... or not

Icewm works well with mplayer and gxine

bodigi,

You should be able to switch dvd subtitles in gxine by using the View,Subtitles menu option. Available in full-screen on the right-click menu. Change the setting from "auto" to each of the "channel" possibilities until you find the right one.
