Remote pc power off Subject description: how to? |
|
hey puppy wizards
I run a number of 'puters currently using slacko 5.3.3 on a desktop that I use as a file server and slacko 5.4 on a lenovo t61 laptop
I have simple samba management and wake-on-lan gui installed
I can wake the desktop, yassm in to create a samba connection and download directly to the desktop
currently to shut the desktop down I tightvnc in and then power-off, is there a command line alternative or script to avoid vnc'ing, doesn't take any time but thought there may be a more elegant way.......
thanks in advance

hey sunburnt
many thanks - I had seen this before, from my understanding ssh needs a client and server, puppy comes with the client but not the server
I have tried the command and you get error, connection refused
this also happens when ssh tools in 'internet'
thanks for trying though!!
