Developer and Router users: NTP heads-UP!
Most users do little to nothing to administer their routers. Many never use their router's features for Network Time Service (NTP).
Most users do little to nothing to administer time on their PCs.
There is a service that is available in ALL PUPs (WOOF builds) which does the time administration for you, as a user.
This Thread is for those responsible for Time Service on PUPPY PCs AND you use Western Hemisphere in that subsystem for Time service.
Take note of the following and pay close attention to item #2 because "time" things are going to break unless action is taken.

5 December 2012 Important changes:
1. The server at address 184.108.40.206 will no longer be available after 17 December 2012. We apologize for the short advance notice of this change.
2. All of the NIST time servers will stop supporting the "TIME" protocol that uses tcp port 37 on 1 March 2013. This protocol is very expensive in terms of network bandwidth, since it uses the complete tcp machinery to transmit only 32 bits of data. We will continue to support the udp version of this protocol. However, users are *strongly* encouraged to upgrade to the network time protocol (NTP), which is both more accurate and more robust.
3. Users of the NIST "DAYTIME" protocol on tcp port 13 are also strongly encouraged to upgrade to the network time protocol, which provides greater accuracy and requires less network bandwidth. The NIST time client (nistime-32bit.exe) supports both protocols. We expect to replace the tcp version of this protocol with a udp-based version near the end of 2013.
4. The generic name time.nist.gov will continue to point to all of our servers on a round-robin basis, and users are encouraged to access the service using this name. .
Sorry I'm late with this.
