REQ: Seamonkey constantly freezes in Fatdog

#1 Post by jjgomez »

Seamonkey CONSTANTLY freezes! The CPU usage monitor goes to 100%. I read a post that this is really a problem with java. I've tried to update java but so far I have been unsuccessful. I tried this method with jre_7_11 :

http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 02&t=83451 But it doesn't work.

I also tried to load the java sfs package but that also did not work.

When I go to about:plugins in Seamonkey, should I see an entry for java?

Is this test supposed to work when I go to http://www.java.com/en/download/testjava.jsp?

I am able to open the java console.

I am running Fatdog live on an HP Pavilion dv5000, AMD Turion(tm) 64 Mobile Technology ML-34

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Is this a new problem or has it developed over time?
There are several methods used in the thread which one did you use?
I also tried to load the java sfs package but that also did not work.

I can see Java under seamonkey plugins. What was the exact name of the SFS, did you use 64bit?
Is this test supposed to work when I go to http://www.java.com/en/download/testjava.jsp?
Yes if plugin is enabled

I am able to open the java console.
What does the following command return?
java -version
