What happened with your scanner installation? You never reported back here.

Hi. There was a link between the two questions, the downloading of drives from the package manager and not getting my scanner to work was possibly to do with me not getting my installed packages to work.
Thanks.

Still not solved this problem. When I install packages (with all the dependent packages) where do they go to on my computer/puppy linux. Have installed Simple network protocol tools, a Screen Clock and the HP printscanfax support. But can not find these in Puppy menu or anywhere else on my computer. Obviously I need to get into these to use them. Thanks. Paul

Command 'fixmenus', and if you use JWM, open the JWM config window and restart JWM after a download. Some - not all - installations warn that the screen will blink, that is because of the restart of the window manager. Sometimes restarting X after many downloads will set things straight.

Hello. Did try the command fixwindows, but still not working. It works OK in Lucid Puppy the problem is only with Slacko Puppy. Installed Packages appear Ok in "Puppy package manager" but do not appear in the menu. Know I must be doing something correctly as Lucid packages works OK. Thanks. Paul

Hello. OK then.
Xgames-0.3 Small X games collection (Dont play games but a good test!).
Oclock-1.0.3 X11 on screen clock.
HPLIP-3.12.9 HP Printscanfax support.

What ever I try the "Installed packages" do not appear in my menu.

When I use this function in Lucid, everything appears in menu, with no problem.

I do get a lot of screen freeze when using this function in Lucid and a small amount of screen freeze in Slacko with this function.

I am actually thinking of doing another download of Slacko to see if this might sort the problem out. Thanks. Paul

Not all packages create an entry in the menus. But it sounds like you have some other problems.

That's correct. In which case, this can help when running Slacko.

Hi Semme et al,

Have you looked at PupMenu-3.1 from radky; an outstanding "configurable application launcher and menu editor".http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 72ab37a803

My regards
