Am I missing something? Isn't Gmail web-based mail that is stored in server farms that are located who-knows-where?

I dont understand your question.. This tool login in at gmail using
your standard account and then sending a mail.
It dont use a webgui cause not many commandline warriors, unix/linux admin and sendmail-junkies have a desktop enviroment.

You can save much time just sending a mail trough the cli instead of
starting a slow browser with flash who then sets the computer fan at 50000rpm's.

Hmmm... I wonder why my ISP seems to block your site? I can get through a proxy though. I remember vistiing about 2 months ago and it was ok. Just tried Opera and google-chrome.

Anyone else see this?

Sorry for OT

Hi! :) I can guarantee you that your ISP is NOT blocking my site.
It's Probably my firewall. I have a huge blacklist (asia/pacific and more) and maybe you have one of those ip's? :)
Could you also post a screenshot of the message saying my site is "blocked"?

No blocking message, just failure. But since Barry linked on his blog I thought it to be my ISP.

Hi again and thanks for the screenshot! :)
Well i don't know what could cause that error but my site is
running fine and i have many visitors right now so it shouldn't be a problem
connecting. Let me know if you keep getting this error, then i have to
take a look in my logs etc and se whats going on... :)

It's not a problem for me as I can get there with proxy. Using http://proxyserver.asia so you will see an IP leading to that I guess in the logs.

Thanks!

EDIT: I wonder if you can see my server? http://01micko.no-ip.org/

Yes, your program works :) . I assume one must have devx installed for python, but I guess if you use this and live on commandline then that need go unsaid  .

One thing I dislike from a security perspective is that the gmail password is in plain text. What about reading a config file with the password at least hidden in hex or base64? Not a real lot more secure but at least it's not plain.

Cheers
