Looks like root is not the owner of your flash player lib. It may not stop it from working but might be an idea to "chown root:root libflashplayer.so" and check any of the other files that were installed with it.

Oscar, mine list the same, through all the upgrades I've ever done. Needless to say, FP runs fine.
That Sheldon too had *eventual* success, could you pass along the permissions on your file?

Hello Semme,
As you say it does still run OK. All I can tell you is that if you download the Flash Player files from Adobe (not sure what happens if you use Get Flash) they come through as something like "Owner, Group : 501, guest" if you look at Properties.
What I do is assemble the files I want including the preferences utility, desktop file and icon(s) in a directory eg "flashplayer11-11.2.202.261" and then just
chown -R root:root flashplayer11-11.2.202.261
so that all the files to be installed (manually or via a .pet) are then owned by root.
The permissions of libflashplayer.so downloaded from Adobe seem to be Owner=rw Group=rw World=r
The ldd command that you mentioned produces a warning that execute permission is not set so I have set those but I really don't know if any execute permissions are needed or advisable with this file or other shared libs. Most other shared libs seem to have them set for Owner, Group and World.

I believe that the latest version of GetFlash automatically corrects the permissions after the download from Adobe.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I figure it doesn't matter much on a box run by root. It hasn't caused any problems, so no need to address it, other than, maybe what Terry mentioned.. GetFlash handling the auto. Pretty much the same reason I figured it wasn't the issue Sheldon was facing..
