Is Puppy Package Manager Broken? |
|
I am trying to download and install MythTV via PPM and it keeps failing.
Test URL's says several sources are OK but they fail.
I need 7 files.
Ideas, please?

I looked at that link but did not find anything for MythTV.
In Puppy Package Manager I am looking at 5 Debian sources plus Puppy Exprimo.
I did update the listings, so they are current.
It seems odd that the Debian sources list the MythTV files but then when I try to access them they throw an error.

Wow, what a great resource, thanks!
Should I add it to PPM or manually download then install from local?

Add to PPM? I know nothing of this..
I usually grab what's required and ldd to fill in the gaps..
If I need to know what I'm look'n for, it's here I fill in the blanks.

In Puppy how do you get the Debian modules to load without using Puppy Package Manager?

To get MythTV to run I need 7 or more programs (or modules or whatever they are labeled).
Puppy Package Manager is purposed to identify, download, and install the target program (in this case MythTV) along with all of the needed support programs (whatever one chooses to call them).
I am unclear as to what one does to identify and tie all of the dependencies together without PPM.
WDYT?

hi edoc
try updating the PPM first, as the ubuntu repos are changing quite frequently
open the ppm, click configure then update ..... once updated exit the the PPM entirely and restart it

I am using Exprimo so the Debian repos come up.
I did update them all yesterday.
Oddly, the repos say the MythTV files are there but when I try to access them via PPM they fail.

5.x.15 utilizes Squeeze. If you can't find what you want >> search!

I understand that, it's not Ubuntu, it is Debian.
I can find lots of scattered programs & dependencies.
The *only* method I am aware of to bind them all together in Puppy is the Puppy Package Manager.
At the moment Puppy Package Manager is failing to get the job done.
The question stands unanswered.
Is Puppy Package Manager broken?
Or is there some other concise explanation for the failure to download and install the MythTV package (including dependencies)?

squeeze-mmd_contrib
squeeze-mmd_main

All via Puppy Package Manager.
