#1 Post by hakeem320 »

hello guys,

i am from Pakistan i am using Puppy Slacko and i connect to internet via Huawei ec169 mobile partner usb modem. I have also installed its supporting app which is mobile partner client.
OK that's the info now the problem

which is i have to make a call to the service provider to load balance via scratch card, in Windows version of mobile partner client they have given voice call feature, but in Linux version there is nothing.
Please help me regarding this problem or please suggest any application for Slacko through which i can make call to service provider.

I assume this is a dial-up or 56 kbps modem. Correct me if I'm wrong. Would it work to install Wine so you could use the Windows version of the mobile partner client?

.
Are you able to get a screenshot of the partner programme you use in Slacko? (Menu, graphic, MtPaint screen capture)

To use your USB modem in puppy linux, try Saluki Puppy Linux. Its a well polished puppy linux derivative. It will detect your USB Modem Automatically (I think U ppl r using PTCL's EVO). Just Insert your USB and wait for a while. after that use pup dial Modem dialer.
dial number = #777
user name = vwireless@ptcl.com
pasword = ptcl
Thats it:)
I followed the above steps and works well for me without any issue.
Hope that it helps.
(Note: To make a call you have to use any phone dialer application of puppy linux, I never tried that that)

Refer to my previous post:
It is confirmed that 3G USB modem working nicely in slacko pup also without any issue. I checked it on Slacko too.
Just insert ur usb and goto pupcontrol--->Network--->Internet connect.
Enter the requisite information and click on connect.
You are Done.

Flash, Its not a 56 k Modem.
Its 3G USB Modem (Like typical Flash Drives).
