Puppy Linux for Raspberry Pi?

What works, and doesn't, for you. Be specific, and please include Puppy version.

Puppy Linux for Raspberry Pi?

#1 Post by Hot_Toddy »

I have recently become the owner of the micro Raspberry Pi credit card size computer. It runs a hacked version of Debian, so I would assume that it would run Puppy Linux in one of its versions. It has only 512mb of onboard memory but I guess one of the versions designed for older computers would fit the bill.

It doesn't have an onboard hard drive, but has an SD slot for onboard memory, which can be as large as you like (according to its website at http://www.raspberrypi.org). This tiny computer has been designed for educational establishments so would be of interest to anyone interested in using Puppy Linux for education.

Has anyone got experience of using Puppy Linux for the Raspberry Pi, and is a version of Puppy Linux going to be produced for it?

On eBay, a version (cased) of the Pi is selling for £25-£30, so its very cheap and would be worth somebody producing a copy for it, since I understand the community of Pi users is growing.

I find it most convenient to take the Pi and connections to and from locations and (with the wi-fi adapter) in my shirt pocket, and it would be really useful if a version of Puppy could be produced for it, as I have on my desktop computer.
