How to use Redshiftgui in Slacko?

#1 Post by Rope »

Hello, I am new to Puppy linux. I installed with the windows slacko installer 450.

I am trying to use RedshiftGUI work. I installed it and when I run the console it loads and can set the city, etc but nothing happens.

I read RedshiftGUI is made for another Puppy, Lucid maybe. How can I make it work? Do I need any extra driver?

Thanks.

Run it from a shell. Does it say you're missing libxcb-randr0? Is it in Slacko's PPM?

No, it does not report lacking anything AFAIK. But there is an error 163.

Grab this. Extract the redshiftgui binary to /usr/bin >> it'll overwrite the other.

Though the two are the same version, the md5's don't match.

Whether it's something else- I'm unsure.

For now I don't know. If someone knows the answer- be my guest.

There's a cli we could adjust, but not without further research..
