Low sound level Asus M2N68 AM Plus motherboard [Solved]

#1 Post by RickGT351 »

When I play any kind of media, whether it be a cd or a podcast, I have to crank the volume up to full volume on my amplifier so I can hear it. I have tested the amp itself and cds play ok on it. Have also tried playing a cd on the same computer with windows - ok there too.
windows describes the sound card as a High Definition Audio Device. Its the onboard sound card not an extra one. I downloaded Lupu 5.28-004 hoping that would fix it but it didn't.

Update: I decided to try Puppy Slacko and it doesn't have the low volume issue but I would like to get it working with 5.28

Go to Multimedia then Alsamixer. Increase the volume up to 100%,
I found this answer in a post elsewhere
