I boot slacko and then set Swedish keyboard and
local time and then set firewall on and adjust sound
to 100% and set screensaver to not get active and
a few more.
These changes has to be somewhere. Can I copy these
files or directories to the mnt/home for reuse next time
I boot?
Compare this. Lupu does not have Firefox installed
so one download and install it. Then one can move
the created /root/.mozilla directory to the mnt/home
and reuse it as a kind of backup of that firefox install.

I am just curious. Some years ago. Suppose 2008 to 2010 or so
did not many Linux distros have this feature that one could tell them
what language one wanted the keyboard to ahve the VGA resolution
one maybe even could tell what time format but that maybe is me
having poor memory.
What I am trying to say is that there is more than one way to boot up
a distro than to need a save file for to remember what keyboard
the user wants when the desktop show up.
And the sfs allow that one never have to install a program.
One just load it on the fly like I have done now numerous time
with Chrome and Iron and Opera browsers. I load the Geeqie
picture view that way no sweat no need for save file either .
Teh bad thing is that it does not remember the settings?
Btu some program do that Firefox if I move the .mozilla to mnt/home
then it do remember both passwords and bookmarks and UTF-8
setting and the addons too.
So that show it would be very practical to be able to use live iso
or frugal install that way and never be dependent on a save file
that crashes or get corrupt or grown for the noob.
before I learned to put .mozilla on the outside the savefile
and teh cache and such then the save file grew real fast.
But even when I did my best to get control it still grew some MB
each other or third day and in a year that would be 100MB
So would be cool to get a solution that allow one to set language
already in the boot code and tell it some other stuff too.
I spent some 3 to 5 hours to do the dir2sfs but I am too noob
I fail to do it as it is supposed to and had to give up to make a
zs054322.sfs file out of the slackosave.3fs file.
I tested it many times and it never loads but looks like it is really there
and have content but nothing goes right.
so that being that difficult the better approach has to be to work
totally without savefile and that is what I test now.
But it is a lot of clicking before all the set up us done.
so if one could do a simple script or something that once for all
had all those personal settings in it and just ask it to load at boot
or manually even later would save a lot of time .
