Version 1.1.24 is out.
The gstreamer libs package on the downloads page is just an empty file at the moment. Maybe they are updating that.

Anyway I downloaded the Debian Wheezy gstreamer libs and included them and have packaged SlimBoat as a .PET which seems to work in Dpup Wheezy. Haven't tried other Puppies yet (though I know it won't work in Racy).

Flash Player is working (in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins).

With datafilehost you want the smaller "download" button.
The larger "download now" thing is an ad.

Nicely done, OscarTalks. Installed your pet, using Slimboat as I type, on Precise 5.4.3. I was looking for a lightweight alternative to Seamonkey as I'm running on only 256MB of ram.

Youtube works but with frequent stuttering of both video and audio. Using Htop to check the usage shows regular spikes to 100%.

However, using Seamonkey to view the same video yielded a smoother experience, with only occasional lags in video, none for audio.

Strangely when using SlimBoat, the Murga Linux forum is displayed in rather small font size but when I click on a thread, individual posts have the usual (acceptable) font size.

Thanks for testing and reporting. Tried a few YouTube videos here in Wheezy and seems all OK. If RAM is low I hope you have some swap. I think fonts can be changed in preferences but it is a new browser for me so only just started looking myself.

Anyway I have made another version using the official Ubuntu Precise gstreamer libs so this one may work better in Precise Puppy.

I'm using UpUp Precise and Slimboat certainly lightened the load a little. Works very good except not so good with Youtube streaming video. One other comment, the Google Search link uses a customized Google Search and not the direct Google.com. Not an issue if you don't use it but it worries me that there may be some other monitoring going on behind the scenes.

That said... I like it. Nice, lightweight, clean and almost as fast as Dillo. THIS IS DEFINITELY WORTH A LOOK AS A DEFAULT BROWSER FOR DISTRO MAKERS!

It looks like they have fixed the gstreamer libs download link now. It now points to a xz package of about 400KB.

I believe the developers use the customized version to Google to earn a little cash for themselves to get things going. I believe you are tracked to some degree via cookies even with the vanila Google.com. Google changes search result ranking orders based on your past search history nowadays.

With that said, you can easily create a search engine pointing to the original google.com. First, go to google.com and position the caret inside the search box on the page. Then click the drop down arrow on the right side of icon on the left side of the search box to get a menu showing the list of engines. From the menu, select "Create your own search engine" to build your own google.com search engine. After it's created, you can set it as default from the same menu.

This won't work in Wary/Racy as the libs are too old.
In Slacko, Flash Player doesn't work. Anyone figure out why?

It all seems to work OK in Wheezy, Precise and Exprimo but is posted here just for people to try it out.

If you go to download these, make sure you use the correct "download" button on the datafilehost page.

Of all the Qt-based web browsers out there this has become my most-favourite of all to use!

Two thumbs up and a "Keep up the great work!" my fellow Puppian Friend. We sure do appreciate it, those of us who are unable to do so...
