Hello,
What about adding Greek language to an ever increasing in popularity distro?
I'm from Greece, contact me at kounelii at yahoo dot com.

You and collaborators can read the documentation on Menu > Help > HOWTO internationalization, or online. Momanager is the tool for translating Puppy Linux, it's built in in the latest versions. It is recommended to use the most updated official build, which is now Puppy Precise 5.5 beta, but if you prefer to use a stable release, there is Precise 5.4.3 or RetroPrecise 5.4.3 (for older hardware). To use Momanager you must have the devx installed (the devx is an SFS file that adds development tools to Puppy, the links above include both the ISO and devx files). POedit ↓ is a cool program to edit the .po files created by Momanager in an easier way, because it organises the lines to translate. Language packs created by Momanager can translate Puppy Linux version 5.3 and later (except Slacko 5.3.1).

Some programs have existing translations (Abiword, Geany, Gparted, Gnumeric, Osmo, Homebank, Gnome MPlayer, etc.) that you can search over the web and add to the language pack, you can even edit the old .mo files with Momanager. Other programs and interfaces must be translated from the beginning.

In my first attemt to translate puppy, i went ahead and translated all i could find easy to do!
one of them (which i also thought to be a good idea) was initrd
that is holding system messages at boot

inexperienced and clumsy as i am, i had ommited this symbol ---> " once in the text...
one of this was enough to make my system unbootable and set me back about an hour to figure it out.

So for you people that try to edit ANY file,
be king and pay attention to EVERY detail in your modifications...

apparently puppy search for strings like " or ' or \ or / ....

messing with them WILL cause you trouble (as i found out)
