Having trouble to get software volume to work in puppy.
The issue is being talked about here. could be relevant for usb audio devices.

I can't be sure, but it sounds like voip is "capturing" the sound of the clock.

Just updating this:
Whilst the volume control does nothing on the tray, if an application has a volume control on it, VLC, MPLAYER and others, the volume does work.
And works very well with good resolution!
So mostly solved (unless an app doesn't have a volume control).
