USR external 56K modem won't work in Puppy

#1 Post by loninappleton »

I have dialup woes.

Used the wizard to select ttys1 for com2
and filled in the boxes.

Wizard reported /dev//ttyS1 modem on irq=3

Still no dialout.

Modem is a USR industry standard external
which I am using now over in Windows.

Nice article on Puppy Linux from Marcel Gagne at
Linux Journal this month.

Send help for modem and dialup.

:(

I have a USR modem which I will be using soon.
( I have broadband but one of my web sites can only be accessed by modem
- that is because they get money on calls but not adsl)

I would make sure you are using Puppy 1.0.4 (if possible)

To set up your modem go to . . . Start / Network / Gkdial analog modem dialup or Xeznet

I got that from this page:

:)
Puppy Raspup 8.2Final 8)
Puppy Links Page http://www.smokey01.com/bruceb/puppy.html :D
