Ardour 3 Digital Audio Workstation

#1 Post by Announcer »

Requires JACK.

This is an sfs of the new Ardour 3 with midi. It is the pre-compiled version with its own libraries, but it's been fixed so that loading the sfs doesn't give the "all font characters turn into rectangles, icons break, and the desktop turns white" error. (Ardour comes with its own pango and gtk-pixbuf, which caused the problem - fixed by changing the folders to links to the correct system folders.)

Tested on Slacko, probably works on any Puppy - try it and report back!

"Error, your jack version is too old, Ardour cannot keep pace with that version".
Something to do with buffer transfers or something. Came up though and looks quite nice.

Page 6 of this multimedia section, Capicoso 0.34. Slacko 533 kernel.
I think darkcity did a newer one on Page 5.

This is the official pre-compiled version of Ardour 3, the only thing I have done is fix the above error, which doesn't affect JACK.

I don't know if it will help, but why don't you try doing that in the reverse order?

Hi Announcer,
Currently the link is dead - it may only be temporary but if it isn't could you upload to an active file hosting service. This would be greatly appreciated as I'm rather keen to try the new features of Ardour 3.

Cheers
Martin

nice work, added link to jack package to wiki-
http://puppylinux.org/wikka/jack

There are two flavors of Jack. the 0.x series and the 1.x series. they are supposed to run as concurrent projects. I think one uses C and the other C++?
