Sad it only have 512MB DRAM but it should be supereasy to
pup linux on it they tell us. I have not read the text though.
beagleboard.org most likely have details?
Though it ships from Texas Instruments with Angstrom Linux on board,
it's also tuned to support Android and Ubuntu, and arrives pre-loaded
with the Cloud9 IDE
I use Google Search on Puppy Forum
not an ideal solution though

Angstrom Distribution, Ubuntu, Debian, ArchLinux, Gentoo, Sabayon, Buildroot, Erlang, Fedora

Thanks for sharing that info.

I trust that none of these linuxes allow root do they?

Cool and cost some 45USD too that is in Swedish Krona
some 300SEK or so depending on how Toll react?
but usually it result in 450SEK normally.
I can buy such once a month and still have food :)

So i should do it. I love computers that are totally silent.
The only thing that bothers me is that it require hdmi
I only have one such monitor screen and some 4 or 5
vga screens so that is a downer

Ubuntu disables the root account by default; but "sudo passwd root" works.
Basically everyone else has root enabled.

...Buildroot? it can help reduce your frustrations...or multiply them, when you need to figure out what's breaking.

"Only" 512 megs of RAM? When I was young, 64 was plenty for a well-tuned system, and I still haven't had issues with needing to swap on 1 GB. Apart from Firefox and a few bits of insanely-written source, 300 megs is the most I see used.

So many small boards to chose is not easy.

I would prefer one with both VGA and HDMI out
that way I would be able to use the four good LCD
screens I have and not use the TV to Computer or
to buy a HDMI screen just for this little board :)
