Hello, I am new to Puppy and looking for xdotool-2.20110530.1-3.pet.
I have tried google which resulted in:
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=542864
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=79573
There is a download link but when clicked on the link I got
"An Error Occurred"
I also tried to look for the file at
http://distro.ibiblio.org/puppylinux/pe ... es-slacko/
with no success.
Is there a location which housed these that I am missing?

Hi!
Welcome to the kennels!
The problem is probably because the size of attachments was reduced recently on this BBS.
Depending on your "breed" of Puppy, you could try to download xdotool from:
http://pkgs.org/search/?keyword=xdotool
If you have wheezypup, for ex., download the package for Debian Wheezy.
If you have a slacko, download the package for Slackware, and so on.
Once downloaded, simply click on it, and the package will install automatically (on modern puppies).
Good luck!

See if this works. I didn't make it but I have used it and it worked.

Sorry, did not see this post earlier.
I do own exactly this version and it is installed already in LazY Puppy since its first version was published. Today I do use this heavily in some scripts.
I do use xdotool
- to place desktop icons (programs) to a specific position when created from within the Desktop Icon Creator
- to switch openbox window manager to have 30 desktops available (when using the VSP-LazY-Puppy-Builder)
- to set the GUI of the Desktop Icon Creator available at all desktops, so it is always usable when switching the desktop while creating desktop icons
- the same on the VarioMenu in LazY Puppy
- to switch openbox desktops by keyboard (alt 1-0 = desktops 1-10, ctrl-alt 1-0 = desktops 11-20, ctrl-alt-shift 1-0 = desktops 21-30)
- - in this case the desktop icons do change also, because of the VarioMenu - it is synchronized with the openbox desktops
- - so, if I choose to work on the desktop for Graphics (alt-9), I do have the real openbox desktop for Graphics plus the real icon selection for the use of the Graphics programs
- - each category has its own desktop and icon selection placed onto this desktop --> up to 30 categories/desktops
plus some more, which doesn't come to mind at the moment.
However, xdotool is a really useful tool!
