We need only source of xscanimage-peasy ... :D

The dialog you see, like "Scan Mode" and "Resolution" comes from the SANE backend for your Mustek driver - /usr/lib/sane/libsane-mustek.so, not from xscanimage-peasy.

When you run Xsane, are words like "Gray" translated?

Since I don't own a mustek scanner, I cannot know what words you are talking about. However, here is a test.

1. Pick one of the 22 words.

2. Run the command: strings /usr/lib/sane/libsane-mustek_usb.so | grep the_word

If it is detected, then there is no way for Peasyscan to translate it.

don't :cry: because xsane is inside every standard puppy :wink:

@all,
Would be nice to know how it goes in other combinations of scanner and language

I set up Slacko using de_AT and installed the Xsane NLS package.

I installed the hplip_scan driver.

I ran Xsane. All the messages are in German, except for words like Flatbed, Gray, Color and Lineart.

These words come out of the SANE driver /usr/lib/sane/libsane-hpaio.so. So they do not get translated.

I have made Russian translation for peasyscan. Cannot test it though. I don't have a scanner. I hope it's ok.

That would be nice. But I really don't want to release a new version of Peasyscan for the sake of one word. :wink:

The translations for PeasyPrint, PeasyScale, PeasyPDF, PeasyPort, YASSM, Legacy GRUB Config 2013, Peasyscan, PeasyGlue are directly in polish langpack.
Here is the translation for peasydisc. Line 550 is not gettexted in peasydisc file.
Updated for Peasydisc 3.2

Peasy-apps Localized

#38 Post by L18L »

German translation for peasydisc attached.

Note,
I had to increase size of Xdialog help
(and add 1 gettext)
HELP () {
Xdialog --left --wrap --title "$(gettext 'Help')" --msgbox "$(gettext 'Pick a location for your Output Folder in a partition with lots of space, probably NOT in /root. A good choice is a mounted flash drive, like /mnt/sdb1.\n\nUnlike CD-RWs, rewritable DVDs do NOT need to be blanked before burning. However, new DVD-RWs need an initial formatting. DVD+RWs are OK.\n\nTo write data to a CD/DVD/BD, you must first collect the files and folders into a temporary Source Folder. Use Link instead of Copy to save space. If the data is already organized in a folder, use it as the Source. You can also write a single file.\n\nTo copy an audio CD, rip tracks "1-" and uncheck "Titles". Then burn using your output folder as the source.\n\nTo reset PeasyDisc back to its defaults, delete the hidden file /root/.peasydisc.\n\nFor information about Windows compatibility, read Line 4 of /usr/sbin/peasydisc.')" 36 72
}

I am going to post a new version. Could you test the Help screen in German using "0 72" instead of "36 72"? This lets the vertical size be flexible for different languages.
