Subject description: not happy with puppy

I have used puppy for many years and enjoyed it. But what I dont like is looking for stuff.. I have spent weeks of my time ,trying to make things work on puppy..Its like looking for a needle in a hay stack....The average person
would not do it.. Puppy needs a make over...I want to use linux more but, nothing works well, so its back to micro shaft...What broke my will was, open shot..After 2 solid weeks and about 200 mb of downloads, still nothing.
With puppy nothing works... Or is so crude...One puppy is needed, not a mixed bag...Every one behind one puppy, with easy access to working packages. The one thing puppy does well is a base for fire fox on usb.
But move away from that and its a night mare...But I think linux is in a hole.
Windblows might be a virus filled night mare but offline it works great.
So with me its windblows offline and puppy online.. I just wish i could do more with linux.. Because I think winblows are money hungry b---ards.
I think its time puppy started with a fresh blank page..Being very small is
not needed today.. But working well is.. Keep up the good work, but look over your shoulder, puppy might get left behind...seeya..

Wow! Thanks mate.

Another happy customer.

And yet this is your first post here.

No... I can't be bothered.

You are not worthy.

I shall not post William Connolly's link for you.

Tantrum utterers in their first post don't deserve sympathy.

Chris.

This forum is about people helping people with Puppy Linux.
If you have a problem with puppy or a specific application, all you have to do is state what version of Puppy you are using, state your problem, and ask for help.
Coming across as you did only alienates others as to helping you!

And I have had problems with Windows applications not working correctly and nonexistent drivers with no one to complain to that would listen.

So at least with Puppy, you have somewhere to go to ask for help and find a solution.

Once was a time when I didn't even know that Puppy existed.
Went looking for something more secure than Windows, to do my online banking.
Tried various Linux distros; couldn't seem to make them do stuff.
Tried Puppy:
WOW! Very Happy
Puppy was even better than I'd hoped to find!
Now it's the only serious contender for my usage.

And NO WAY would I want there to be only 1 Puppy.
I'm not into mono-culture.
Diversity is GREAT.
Different horses for different courses.

As you can see from some of the responses, one should expect kindness and support when one reports that the emporer has no clothes.

One of the folks that checks into the Puppy IRC channel on freenode (#puppylinux) has an amusing outlook. He made a puplet, spent lots of time correcting and improving things and released it to the public. He was a bit put off when there was not much discussion here about his puplet...and then he realized it had a tragic flaw (WOOTB) Works Out of The Box.

Windows isn't filled with viruses. Windows is the big target for cyber-criminals who like to write viruses.

I don't get why it's a hard concept for linux users to understand. Very Happy

And further to Windows problems.

I installed a new PC for a family member last week.

8 gigs of ram, Gigabyte MB, 1 gig Video card.....

and you know what....result >>> uninspiring.

That's having a combo of Comodo firewall only,
an older 2010 version that just works...
with all the crapola removed

and Antivir Free edition AV.

Stopped all the crappy startups with Autoruns etc

and most programs I run are portable...

like Pale Moon browser etc

and yet....it's crap.

"""""""""""""

Windows....give me a break.

If you want XP and Win 7 to run fast

type up Xperience.

He put Win7 setup on a cd....hhh!! or so I believe...
rhubarb....rhubarb...

and Tiny XP >>> installed was 99 mb.
or so I'm told.

Freakin' Windows.........Chris.

I get curious... on the writing style...I think that i've seen it before...the dots...

"With puppy nothing works... Or is so crude...One puppy is needed, not a mixed bag..."

three dots...three dots again...and three dots repeated... where have I seen it before.

Is this somebody banned that has started anew with new username?
or is it some teaser that troll us to react badly.

May I predict the OP never write again Smile

Many writers use that device...it's very convenient.
